The charade that Kennedy pulls off in the group chat lasts for another hour, until she’s had enough of it. She says goodnight to the girls and shuts her laptop closed. She’s ready to end her night with a hot bubble bath, accompanied with a glass of wine and Chase’s music playing.

Her cell phone rings as she prepares her bubble bath, and as she picks it up from her bed she becomes immediately irritated when she sees Tiffany’s name on the caller I.D. She started to ignore the call, until she becomes curious as to why Tiffany is calling her, especially since the chat just ended.

“Hey Tiffany”, answers Kennedy. “What’s up?”

“Hey Kennedy, I wanted to talk to you about something, but I didn’t want to say anything in front of the girls. I heard something about you that didn’t sound right.”

“Oh! Yeah? What did you hear about me?”

“I’m not sure if you know one of the Chasers from Virginia, but she was at Birchmere’s Valentine’s Day show, too. She told me she saw you being dragged out by security. What happened?”

“What? I wasn’t dragged out by security!” Kennedy lies.

“Well, she saw your Twitter avatar, and I asked her if she’s certain it’s you and she said yes.”

“She must have me mistaken for someone else.”

“So, that wasn’t you becoming aggressive with Chase at the Meet N Greet?”

“No!” Kennedy says adamantly wanting to keep up the charade that she’s created for herself.

“Okay.” Tiffany says, letting go of the conversation and not believing a word of what Kennedy tells her.

“Is that all, Tiffany?”

“Yes. That’s all.”

“Goodnight”. Kennedy hangs up wondering how long she can continue to lie to herself and others.
